Villa Accommodation

We have three holiday accommodation options for you to choose from.

Casa Aguia

The property is extremely spacious and beautifully appointed. The villa has 2 large en-suite bedrooms, each of which can be double or twin bedded. One has a full bathroom with bath and shower over, W. C., bidet and washbasin. The other has a stylish ‘wet room’ style shower, W.C. and washbasin. This room is fully accessible for wheelchair users (for more information regarding accessible  holidays and the support services available at Vale da Cegonha please see our Access for All page). Each bedroom may have an extra bed or cot added.

There is a fully equipped kitchen/diner with hob, oven, fridge, microwave and kettle; a breakfast bar and dining table and chairs. Adjacent to this is a comfortable lounge complete with TV/DVD, radio and CD player. Double doors open from the lounge onto a shady terrace area for alfresco dining or relaxing.

Beyond the terrace there are lawned areas, a sun terrace with loungers and a shady pergola adjacent to the large 10 x 5 metre heated swimming pool which uses natural salt (further information is provided in our Visitor Information Folder). The pool has a salt level of approximately 10% of that of sea water.

For your added comfort Casa Aguia has full under-floor central heating for the winter months and air conditioning units for the summer.

Guests should please note that children using the sofa bed within the lounge will need access to a bathroom within one of the bedrooms.

 

 

Casa Cegonha

Casa Cegonha is also very spacious and features an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, as well as a large double bedroom with an en suite ‘wet room’ style shower room.

An extra bed or cot may be added.

As a result of the care taken when developing Casas Aguia and Cegonha, both villas have the appearance of a traditional Alentejo country house but feature spacious modern interiors.

The villas are also fully accessible to wheelchair users. Subtle changes in design have ensured this, whilst maintaining the overall style.
All are welcome at Vale da Cegonha.

Casa Andorinha

Casa Andorinha is a delightful detached cottage, approximately 40 meters away from Casas Aguia and Cegonha. Perfect as a romantic hideaway or for young families, it has its own private sun terrace and access to the large 10 x 5m heated salt water swimming pool.

The accommodation consists of an exceptionally spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a large double/family bedroom and a full bathroom.

The kitchen/diner has a range of natural wood units with granite work tops, incorporating an oven, hob, fridge, microwave and kettle - plus dining table and chairs. In the lounge area there is a sofa-bed plus 2 leather armchairs, a TV/DVD, radio and CD player.

Double doors open from the lounge onto a shady terrace for alfresco dining or relaxing. A further set of doors open from the bedroom onto an adjacent shady terrace. Beside the cottage is an area for sunbathing. The lounge, bedroom and all terraces have lovely views of the swimming pool and valley.  

For your added comfort the cottage has heaters for the winter months and air conditioning for the summer.

 

 

What is Included

• Welcome Pack

  All linen, towels and tea towels including a midweek change for weekly bookings.
  
  
• Swimming towels for use at Vale da Cegonha - Beach towels may be hired at 2 euros per day. These also carry a 10 euro refundable deposit per towel.
  
  
• Electricity and Gas.
  
  
• A Welcome Grocery Pack which includes:- tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread rolls, butter, eggs, local cheese and wine, fresh fruit, fruit juice and salt and pepper (English style bacon can be purchased from reception).
  
  
• We also provide toilet rolls, 2 kitchen rolls, cling film, aluminium foil, bin liners, washing up liquid,  sponge and dishcloth.
  

To enhance the enjoyment of your holiday you will find a Visitor Information Folder within our villas, which gives details of local events, places of interest, activities and other attractions as well as lists of restaurants and other information about Ourique and the services available there - hospital/health centre, pharmacy, banks and cash points, taxis, buses  etc.

We offer a 24hr laundry service for which we make a small charge of 5 euros per load. An iron and ironing board is available for guests use.

Telephone and internet access can be arranged through reception and is charged as used. The rates are listed in our Visitor Information Folder.

Self Sufficiency at Vale da Cegonha

We are completely self sufficient here in terms of water and power. Our water comes from our own borehole and is regularly laboratory tested to ensure its quality and safety. It is also wonderfully sweet to drink, so removing the necessity to purchase expensive bottled water.

Our power supply is a hybrid system of solar and wind, backed up by a generator and we use 230, 12 and 48 volts. Guests requiring a constant 230v supply, for medical equipment etc, should please notify us at the time of booking. If in doubt, please contact us.
